Today was bloody tough, emotions are pretty high o

Today was bloody tough, emotions are pretty high on what already is a heightened week of mixed emotions after months of rollercoasters and curveballs.

Today, we said goodbye to our big goofy lovable furbabe Bear.
He has Been with Kiwi and I since he was a Puppy, grown with us and has loved on our girls from the minute they came home from hospital. Bear grew very fond of them, especially conning them into sharing there picnics with him.
Our family, and our girls especially our eldest Harriet, have had lots of tears, and there are many more.

I share this to be real & honest with you guys, because “I’m meant to be showing up daily” on socials as it’s all exciting and anxiously anticipating Release Day for Setting Suns on Friday. Which also has lots of emotions already attached, let alone the heaviness of everything else.

So as I write this I need to remind my self as well,
We are allowed to be sad, hurting, healing & highlighting the joy to absorb light all at the same time - we are people, we are human, not a rock…

As we get closer to the release of the new album, over the next few days I want to share with you all about the songs, the process’s and the heart of Setting Suns.

As a songwriter I truly appreciate the gift of being able to share a story through melody and bring connection to one another. This album has lots about Life, family, inner growth, getting over regrets, burdens of depression & anxiety ,overcoming loss & while also celebrating love & the finding the light.

We all need Setting Suns for the new day, and as I personally and professionally adapt to lots of changes I am feeling excited by the next chapter on the horizon.

My dear Pom Pom Nan left us all a year ago today.

My dear Pom Pom Nan left us all a year ago today. I still have moments daily where I know I haven’t comprehended the loss, and can see my dear loved ones feeling the same, especially My Mumma working through the weight of grief.

This time last year, I was actually in a writing session with two gorgeous friends, Duncan Toombs & Lyn Bowtell who instantly wrapped their arms and hearts around me as My Mum broke the news over what I know was one of her hardest phone calls to make. To never to get to say goodbye to Nan breaks my heart.

I want to share this photo and celebrate my Nans spirit tonight, it’s from Cruising Country, the one where I met Kiwi. She called her self the match maker, and adored our girls when they came along, and reminded Kiwi and I that she was the reason we were together and creating our own part of the family tree.

So here’s to our Nanna, we love and miss you every day, and if only I could call you so you could call me back to “save my money” on the call.
